5 Ways to Celebrate Earth Day!

This Saturday, April 22nd, is the official Earth Day 2017 and we are excited to celebrate. Lebanon is home to diverse geography and incredible natural sights, and this is our day to revel in the wonders of Mother Earth. Here are 5 things to do in Lebanon this Earth Day.


1. YAMMOUNEH HIKE 
Join Vamos Todos as they hike around the ancient lake and Roman ruins of Yammouneh this Saturday. There are different levels of hike difficulty so everyone can join the Earth Day fun.

2. WILD HERB PICKING
What better way to enjoy nature than to sample its edible diversity? Head to the Shouf region to learn how to identify wild herbs and come home with your own freshly picked greens. The trip includes a lunch, a beautiful walk in nature and learning about the local land—a perfect activity for the whole family.

3. TYRE-NAQOURA BIKE RIDE
Bike down the beautiful coast of Tyre with Cycling Circle this Saturday to enjoy Lebanon’s beautiful Mediterranean climate. The trip includes a stop in the Orange House conservatory for sea turtles. There are two levels available and bikes for rent.

4. METEOR SHOWER OBSERVATION
The Lyrids meteor shower is approaching and BeirutVersus is hosting an observation night this Earth Day. The trip will include transportation to Kfardebien, a talk by astronomy experts, and a viewing of the meteor shower.

5. EARTH DAY DINNER IN THE DARK
You can celebrate Earth Day without even leaving Beirut. In an effort to fight climate change, Cantina Sociale is hosting a dinner in the dark this Earth Day. Enjoy a candlelit dinner and save the environment at the same time!
