Beirut Disaster: How You Can Help

The horrific tragedy that took place in Beirut on August 4 is one that has affected us all. If you want to help but don’t know where to start, here are some NGOs, associations and groups that need your support.

Lebanese Red Cross

You can donate blood at Lebanese Red Cross blood transfusion centers across the country. Financial donations can be made online. Download the Lebanese Red Cross app, or visit supportlrc.app.

Donner Sang Compter Lebanon

Keep an eye on DSC Lebanon’s Facebook page to see if blood donations are needed. You can make a financial donation on dsclebanon.org.

Offre Joie

This NGO is looking for volunteers to be part of the rescue team to help remove debris and rebuild homes. Information can be found on their Facebook page. You can also make a contribution on offrejoie.org.

Foodblessed

Foodblessed is a local hunger-relief and food-rescue initiative run by a group of volunteers. During this state of emergency, Foodblessed is encouraging donations on its website, foodblessed.org, where you can also find details about volunteering.

Dafa Campaign

Dafa provides assistance to underprivileged people in Lebanon, and they are calling for volunteers to distribute food and water. They are also asking for urgent donations of food, water, nylon sheets and masking tape, among other items. Check out Dafa’s Facebook page for more information.

Impact Lebanon

This non-profit has set up a crowd-funding platform to provide relief by coordinating with local NGOs. Donations can be made on the website.

Beit El Baraka

This NGO supports Lebanon’s elderly by providing food, health care and accommodation. With many more vulnerable senior citizens impacted by the Beirut disaster, donations are welcome on beitelbaraka.org.

Rebuild Beirut

This social initiative aims to connect donors and volunteers with those most affected by the Beirut blast. For more details, follow Rebuild Beirut on Instagram and Facebook.

Live Love

This social enterprise aims to support communities, particularly those focused on nature, culture and society. Live Love is asking for donations in order to support NGOs who are actively working to bring aid to those most severely affected. You can make a donation by visiting livelove.org/donate.
