DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Bisri hike is a scenic journey along the banks of the Bisri River, a tributary of the Awwali River that forms a natural boundary between Mount Lebanon and South Lebanon. This trail offers a mix of river crossings, forested paths, and open views, especially vibrant during this season when water levels are high and nature is at its peak.\nParticipants can choose between two hiking levels: a 6 km easy trail with gentle terrain along the river, or a more demanding 10 km route with moderate uphill sections.\nThe program also includes visits to key cultural landmarks. The Eshmoun Ruins feature a Phoenician temple complex dedicated to the healing god Eshmoun, along with Roman colonnades, mosaics, and Byzantine remains. The Deir El Moukhalles Monastery, built in 1711 on an ancient site, offers panoramic views and houses a collection of religious artifacts and manuscripts.\nThe outing takes place in Bisri, located 60 km from Beirut at an altitude of 500 meters, on Friday, May 1. Departure is scheduled for 8:15 am from Jdeideh.\nThe participation fee is $70 per person, including transportation, guides, insurance, entrance fees, and lunch. A reduced rate of $40 is available without lunch.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
