DESCRIPTION:Opening: 08/08/2024 at 19:30\nFrom 09/08/2024 at 11:00 to 31/08/2024 at 19:00\nDuring their month-long summer residency at TAKEOVER, Modelab will transform the gallery into a mixed media genealogical garden.\nThe installation, composed of images, plant samples, and decorative elements, elevates personal histories into a collective aesthetic process.\nUsing experimental archival techniques, Modelab aims to honor family memories and identities, celebrating present life.\nModelab is a nomadic artistic initiative exploring public space, ecologies, and experimental historical narratives. Formed by Claudia Arozqueta and Rodrigo Azaola in 2014, Modelab projects have taken place in diverse settings, including streets, parks, billboards, beaches, museums, and vacant retail stores across Australia, New Zealand, France, Mexico, Taiwan, the Philippines, and more.\nOn Thursday, August 8th, the opening event and project launch will take place, followed by a workshop on experimental archives on Wednesday, August 14th.\nParticipants of the workshop are encouraged to bring photos (digital/printed) of their family and/or objects related to their family’s history.
