DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRemaining is a photography exhibition about the victims of political assassinations in Lebanon since 2005. Photographer Édouard Elias created the series, and Katia Jarjoura curated the exhibition. The project keeps the memory of those who were lost alive.\nThe exhibition looks at this memory through the families who live with the loss, personal objects that keep the victims present, and the places where the crimes happened.\nRemaining presents 21 cases of political figures, security officials, writers, journalists, and people who survived assassination attempts. The exhibition also pays tribute to Lokman Slim. During the project, the team met families who chose to share their stories. Others preferred to stay silent, and the team respected their decision.\nThe exhibition also highlights a period in Lebanon marked by political killings. Groups used these killings to silence opposition, enforce control, and shape the country’s political life.\nTogether, these cases show how this violence affected people across regions, sects, and communities. The attacks also left other victims who were killed or injured.\nRemaining honors those who lost their lives, those who survived, and the families who still live with unanswered questions. It also shows how memory can become a form of resistance.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
