Plastic Poetry

Plastic Poetry brings together poet Hyam Yared and visual artist Irina Prentice. Their collaboration creates a dialogue between poetry and visual art. Both artists share personal ties to the Middle East. Their work reflects their individual journeys and artistic research.

Through poetry and drawing, they explore misunderstanding, fractured identities, and urban and cultural destruction. They also question the role of art in times of crisis. For them, art is both a witness to the world and a means of transformation. Their work shows how creation can restore meaning and open space for hope.

The project features excerpts from Du Feu autour de l’œil by Hyam Yared, published by Mémoire d’encrier in March 2025. The texts are presented alongside artworks by Irina Prentice. The collaboration has been shown at Galerie Le Cent 8, Maison des Écritures de La Rochelle during the Festival de Elles, and Galerie Polaris.

Plastic Poetry extends the reflection initiated in Black Sun. This evolving project responds to contemporary history and a constantly changing world.
