The Al Bustan Festival returns for its 32nd edition, confirming its role as one of Lebanon’s key cultural events. The 2026 theme, Family & Friends, highlights music as a shared language, shaped by heritage, exchange, and human connection across generations and cultures.
A Theme of Connection
At a time when connection feels essential, the Festival explores music through family ties, close friendships, and long-standing artistic partnerships. Trust, dialogue, and shared history are at the heart of this edition.
Opening and Closing Highlights
The Festival opens with a landmark concert by Marcel Khalife, joined by his son Rami, his nephew Sary, and guest artists Charbel Rouhana and Nadim Rouhana. This opening concert sets the spirit of the edition, bringing together generations through shared creation.
The closing concert features the powerful voice of Jahida Wehbe, offering a poetic and deeply moving conclusion.
International Artists and Chamber Music
International artists appear throughout the program. Sir Bryn Terfel brings his commanding operatic presence, while violinist Renaud Capuçon returns with performances marked by depth and musical dialogue.
Chamber music plays a central role in this edition. The Trio Moreau reflects the theme through shared family roots. Cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière performs with his sister, violinist Alice Julien-Laferrière. The Geniušas Duo, formed by pianists Lukas Geniušas and Anna Geniushene, also features in the program. Family ensembles and long-standing partnerships appear throughout, highlighting the closeness that shapes their music.
Symphonic and Vocal Repertoire
Symphonic and vocal works remain essential to the Festival. The program includes major works of the classical repertoire, as well as choral and orchestral masterpieces. The Yerevan Youth Orchestra is welcomed this year, reflecting the Festival’s long-standing commitment to mentorship, transmission, and artistic continuity.
