Tucked along Lebanon’s northern border, Menjez is one of Akkar’s most fascinating villages. Its name, derived from Aramaic, means “Buried Treasure” — and it truly lives up to it.
Discover:
• Tombs dating back over 7,000 years
• St. Daniel’s Church, built 250 years ago
• Traditional homes made of black volcanic stone
• The Temple of God (Beit Jal’ouk), a Roman-era citadel reused by Greeks and Crusaders

After the Hike:
Enjoy a warm traditional lunch prepared by local women in the village square. While there, take the opportunity to shop for handmade products and local goods. The day ends with a final stop at Saydet el Kalaa, offering a stunning panoramic view over northern Lebanon and into Syria.
