Menjez Hike With Vamos Todos

Discover Menjez, a historic village in Akkar located on Lebanon’s northern border. Its name, derived from Aramaic, means “buried treasure,” reflecting the area’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

Highlights:

  • Ancient tombs dating back over 7,000 years
  • St. Daniel’s Church, around 250 years old
  • Traditional houses built from black volcanic stone
  • Beit Jal’ouk, a Roman-era citadel dating to 100 BC, later used by Greek and Crusader civilizations
  • Natural sites including Nabe’ Jal’ouk, Saydet Mou’een, and the Menjez River

After the Hike:
Participants gather in the village square to enjoy a traditional homemade meal prepared by local women, with the opportunity to explore and purchase local products. The day concludes with a visit to Saydet el Kalaa, offering panoramic views over northern Lebanon.
