"Les Musicales de Baabdath" is back this year with a line-up of outstanding Lebanese and international musicians!

October 19 - The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
The 2022 edition of Les Musicales de Baabdath opens with Sinfonietta Beirut, an ensemble comprised of fifteen members of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra and professors at the Lebanese National Conservatory joined by students with advanced instrumental techniques. An inaugural performance meant for both adults and youngsters with Prokofiev’s iconic Peter and the Wolf narrated in French by Étienne Kupélian.

October 21 - St Joseph Church Monot - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Austrian pianist Aaron Christian Pilsan is the star of two piano recitals. Thanks to the support of the Austrian Embassy in Beirut, and in partnership with the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music, the famed young pianist gives his first recital in Beirut, St. Joseph Church (Monot Str.), performing the 1st Book of the Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach

October 23 - The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
In Baabdath, Aaron Pilsan presents a mixed program featuring Bach-Brahms Chaconne for the left hand, as well as key repertoire works by Liszt, Schumann, and Enescu

October 25 - The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Reconnecting the Lebanese Diaspora to their homeland, Les Musicales de Baabdath invites violinist Ihab Jamal and cellist Jana Semaan currently based in Jordan, back to Lebanon to perform alongside Jordanian pianist and conductor Karim Said. The newly formed trio by the name of ACO Trio is part of the Amman Chamber Orchestra. The program features works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn.

October 27 - The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Another Lebanese artist in the Diaspora returns to Lebanon to share his music and paintings with his audience. Swiss-based Violist and Painter Ribal Molaeb alongside Slovenian Violinist Tanja Sonc and pianist Karim Said, all three members of the Amman Chamber Orchestra, perform a program highlighting romantic works by Chopin, Bruch, Brahms and Shostakovich. A selection of Molaeb’s paintings will be exhibited in the Baabdath Concert Hall throughout the festival.

November 3 -The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Always in celebration of music, and for the first time since its creation in 2016, Les Musicales de Baabdath adds a much beloved genre to its line-up: Jazz. The great Satyan on the piano, Khachatur Savzyan on double bass and Fouad Afra on drums will perform a contemporary jazz concert revolving around arrangements and compositions by Satyan tinged with Latin tunes. November 6 -The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Les Musicales de Baabdath ‘Strings of Hope 2002’ celebrates Youth! Kevin Kanaan, a young Lebanese musician who has just stepped in his teenage years returns to Lebanon with his violin, to perform alongside 13 years old violinist prodigy Ani Melikyan. Students of Professor Arthur Ter-Hovhanisian, Kanaan and Melikyan are accompanied on the piano by Liana Harutyunyan. The program features virtuoso works by Paganini, Pablo de Sarasate, Edvard Mirzoyan, and Komitas. Harutyunyan who is a supporter of music and culture, will run the 42 Km of the November 13 Beirut Marathon wearing the colours of Les Musicales de Baabdath.

November 12 - The New Church Baabdath - Free Entrance - 8 pm
Les Musicales de Baabdath in partnership with Goethe-Institut Libanon is holding for the second year, a Chamber Music Mentorship Program offering eight students from the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music the opportunity to be coached by four distinguished musicians from DSO-Berlin (Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin). The Lebanese students who have been working on a repertoire overseen by the mentors virtually from Berlin, and in-person in Beirut, will present their work at the 2022 closing performance in Baabdath.
