The MedArtSal Final Event and 2nd edition of the MedArtSal International Salt Fair will be held in Lebanon next June
MedArtSal project partner Fair Trade Lebanon, in partnership with ADR Lebanon - Associaton for the Development of Rural Capacities, and in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Beirut, is organising the second edition of the MedArtSal International Salt Fair as Final Event of the MedArtSal project.
The event will be held from 7th to 9th of June 2023 in Lebanon, in a hybrid format.
On 7th and 8th of June, salt managers of MedArtSal pilot action salinas and other salinas endorsing the project values and goals, will exhibit at the Beirut Digital District (BDD) gardens, as well as focused workshops will be held at the Instituto Cervantes - BDD.
On 9th of June a field visit to Anfeh Salinas will be also realized.
The objective of the fair is to highlight the results obtained through the MedArtSal project in the promotion of a sustainable business model in artisanal Salinas of the Mediterranean Region, to preserve their production, both traditional and innovative, as instrumental for the protection of the saltpans biodiversity value and the social and economic development of local communities.
It will also be a great opportunity to boost and promote the MedArtSal network, by creating further linkages between operators in the sector, partners and local and international salt producers who will attend the event.
