Rachaya El Wadi is a town rich in culture and heritage. It lies at the foothills of Jabal El Cheikh (Mount Hermon) and is known for its red-tiled stone houses and historic landmarks. Among them are the Citadel of Independence and Mar Moussa al Habashi, the region’s oldest Syriac-Catholic church.

We begin at the Emm Chratit tree, a local landmark where you can hang a wish before starting your walk.

Choose Your Trail
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hiker, there’s a trail for you:

Level 3 (Moderate): Ideal for beginners. Enjoy a relaxed walk through the village, then return by bus.

Level 5 (Challenging): A longer, more demanding trail. Walk through farmlands and narrow village streets, and hike back on foot.
Local Lunch & Community Support
After the hike, enjoy a freshly prepared village-style meal made by a local women’s association. This meal features natural ingredients and traditional recipes.
Moreover, you’ll have the chance to buy homemade products—supporting local families and preserving rural traditions.
