Event Overview

Autumn colors make this area perfect for a calm and pleasant hike. During the walk, the trail follows Nahr El Jawz and passes old roads from the Roman era. After the hike, the tour continues in Douma’s old souk, where the streets, shops, and homes reflect the village’s long history.

Hiking Levels

We begin with a short visit to a 1000-year-old Crusader church.

Level 2

• 3 km • 1 hour • 900–950 m
  A simple route focused on the main sights.

Level 4

• 7 km, easy downhill
  The path leads to old mills and then to the river. Next, it enters a thick forest and reaches a reserve with about 60 gazelles.
  Lunch will be under oak trees near the river or in Souk Douma.

Level 5

• 12 km from El Wadi to Tannourine Tahta
  This route passes bridges and mills. In the final part, the bus gathers the groups before a short tour in Douma’s old souk.

What to Bring

Snacks, lunch, water, cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking shoes, and a light jacket.
