As part of our Ramadan program, we invite you to join a special Iftar and guided tour in Sidon (Saida). This city is one of the oldest Phoenician cities in the region. It is also rich in history and culture.
First, we will explore:
Sidon Sea Castle – The Crusaders built this castle in 1228 AD on a small rocky island. It stands on the site of an old Phoenician temple.
Audi Soap Museum – This museum was once a 17th-century soap factory. Today, it shows the history of traditional soap making in Lebanon.
Debbane Palace – This 18th-century home reflects Arab-Ottoman design. Visitors can walk through its rooms and learn about life in the past.
El Kikhya Mosque – This mosque dates back to the Ottoman era. It is known for its tall and elegant minaret.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral (if open) – Many believe this church was built over an older one.
Sidon Old Souk – Next, we will walk through this old market. It runs through the heart of the city.
Khan el Franj – Finally, we will visit this 17th-century inn. Emir Fakhreddine built it to support trade with Europe.
After the tour, we will head to a local restaurant. There, we will break our fast together and enjoy a traditional Ramadan Iftar.
