Spend a day exploring the historic village of Deir el Qamar in the Shouf district of Mount Lebanon. Once the capital of Mount Lebanon between the 16th and 18th centuries and home to the country’s first municipality established in 1864, the village has preserved its heritage with stone houses, cobbled streets and a central square where a synagogue, church and mosque stand side by side.
