Opera and Song Illuminate Baalbeck International Festival

by LBTAdmin

Baalbeck International Festival returns to the City of the Sun from 25 July to 8 August, turning Lebanon’s most famous Roman temples into a stage for live music and performance. Indeed, the ancient site will host a series of concerts and shows that fuse tradition and creativity.

The festival opens with “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, 25-26 July, on the steps of the Temple of Bacchus. Directed by Jorge Takla and conducted by Maestro Toufic Maatouk, this new production features a full orchestra and international cast in one of Lebanon’s most impressive outdoor venues.

On 8 August, Hiba Tawaji takes the stage with Stages (حقبات), a musical production by Oussama Rahbani. Tawaji will perform with an orchestra and choir, exploring different musical periods and honoring Mansour Rahbani on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary.

Founded in 1956, the Baalbeck International Festival has hosted artists from around the world and remains a key part of Lebanon’s cultural calendar. Held under the theme “Pillars of Eternity,” this year’s program continues to highlight the country’s artistic resilience in a setting that connects past and present.

Tickets are available through Virgin Ticketing Box Office. The full program is now online on the Baalbeck Festival website.
