We are delighted to invite you to CHEERS, Hisham Taher’s first solo exhibition in Beirut.
CHEERS reflects the harsh reality of people whose civilization and culture have been
overshadowed and turned into a herd driven by decision makers.

Thus, an entire region is intended to proceed fragmented, divided, and driven to any path that
results in filling the pockets of the beneficiary.

The exhibition’s focus is on provoking emotions, reactions and understanding divisions through
art. It results in the restructuring and thinking of the human condition.

The chair is a temptation with great charm. People may fight over it, especially a “chair of
power” or any chair that gives its owner the power to dominate and violate human rightsdominate in all aspects of life.

Born in 1978 in Iraq, Hisham holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 2007 , and a Master’s degree of Fine Arts from the Lebanese University in Beirut in
2022. He had collective exhibitions in Turkey, Syria, Egypt and Jordan.

Hisham has won many art awards and currently lives and works in Beirut and Erbil.
