Weekend getaway to Qobayet with Italian twist : hiking, fresh artisanal pasta experience and village tour
- Timing: from Saturday 1/10/22 at 12h30 pm till Sunday 2/10/22 at 08h00 pm
- Meeting point: Nahr el Mott – near Wooden Bakery
- Transportation: in a comfortable air-conditioned bus
- 1st day Activities: Sunset hike in Qobayet around 6 kms – Explore the village – Fresh artisanal pasta experience – Italian dinner with Italian mood - Overnight at Les Demeures (B&B)
- 2nd day Activities: Breakfast at Les Demeures – visit of the old silk factory – Hiking at Karm Shbat around 10 kms – Rural lunch at a local restaurant in Qobayet
- Contribution covering guides, the program, transportation for 2 days, accommodation with breakfast, Saturday pasta experience with dinner, Sunday lunch
- 95.-US$/person accommodated in a double room; to add 10$/person for an accommodation in a single room

Join Green Steps for a memorable weekend in Qobayet on Saturday & Sunday 1st & 2nd of October 2022 to discover the hidden gems of Qobayet village and its rural food, enjoy beautiful hikes in its nature, and experience the making of fresh artisanal pasta followed by a delicious dinner with an Italian twist.
Leaving Zalka at 12h30 pm, heading to Qobayet.
Check-in at Les Demeures – Mar Doumit Convent. You’ll have the option to visit the Museum of Butterflies, which is inside the convent.
4h00 pm : Sunset hike in Qobayet village until you reach a beautiful cape of sunset in the village, where you’ll enjoy fantastic scenery.
Then you’ll be heading to a local artisanal factory of fresh pasta to watch the whole process of different types. This demonstration will be followed by a delicious Italian dinner with Italian ambiance. You’ll have the option to buy fresh pasta from the factory.
- The Italian dinner will include the following : tomato focaccia bread, Rocca parmigiano salad, fresh pasta platter of spinach ravioli, four cheese ravioli, and tomato spaghetti with a cup of wine or soft drink. For additional drinks or food, you’ll pay A LA CARTE.

Altitude: between 650 m and 780 m
Total slope variation: 130 m
Effective hiking time: 2 hrs
The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist at a moderate rate.
8h00 am : The day will start with a traditional Lebanese breakfast at Les Demeures
09h30 am: Check-out from Les Demeures and visit of an old silk factory
10h00: Beautiful hike in the nature reserve of Karm Shbat, in Qobayet village for around 10 kms. Explore the reserve and witness the beautiful patchwork of firs, cedars, oaks and juniper trees.
14h30 : Rural lunch at a local restaurant in Qobayet
16h30 : It will be by then the end of the program and you’ll head back to Nahr el Mott holding with you beautiful memories and pictures!

Altitude: between 1950 m and 1550 m
Total descent : 400 m
Effective hiking time: 3.5 hrs
The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist at a moderate rate.
§ Needs for the hike: hiking shoes, hiking stick, hand sanitizer, medical face mask, warm jacket, hat, personal stuff for 2 days, WATER bottles of 2-liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, meal (dry fruits, energy bars, sandwich, drinks), headlight or flashlight, ID card, insurance card, smiley face, and full energy.
§ General knowledge contest and quiz related to the area with a prize for the participants
• Cancellations without prior notice of 24 hours require a payment of 50% of the full contribution
• A minimum of 20 persons is required for the trip to be feasible
• Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility
• Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
• Hikers are asked to follow Covid-19 preventive measures
• Smoking is not allowed during the hike
• In the case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program
