We Design Beirut is an annual four-day design event scheduled to take place from October 27 to 30, 2023, right in the heart of Beirut. This multidisciplinary experience is dedicated to celebrating and promoting design and creativity. The program features designer showcases, installations, talks, and workshops across various design fields such as interior design, architecture, furniture, product design, functional art, ceramics, home accessories, and rugs.

Founded by Mariana Wehbe, in collaboration with industrial designer Samer Alameen and branding agency Bananamonkey, this immersive event aims to create synergy within the global design scene. It brings together established and emerging designers, artisans, specialists, and educators to explore themes of empowerment, preservation, and sustainability. The event provides a platform for interaction with renowned international media personalities, design publication editors, and journalists.

“We Design Beirut” is aptly named, as it seeks to encompass design from multiple perspectives, enriching the current design ecosystem with ideas and practices from both the past and the present. Lebanon has a rich history of inspiring international designers, and this event aims to contribute to that legacy.

Additionally, PSLab, an internationally renowned lighting design house, will serve as the official headquarters of We Design Beirut. This space, which has endured significant challenges, will provide a platform for artisans to exhibit their work and host discussions on empowerment.

We Design Beirut aims to empower and inspire the global design scene by fostering collaboration and innovation among design talent, businesses, and journalists, shaping the future of design. It’s a celebration of Beirut’s resilience and its continued contribution to the world of design.
