“WOMEN by WOMEN”
On International Women’s Day, ART DISTRICT Gallery is pleased to invite you to the exhibition “Women by Women”. An exhibition showing the work of three women artist, two of whom are photographers, Anna Bondavalli Ward and Nadine Ashkar. The third artist is a Lebanese mesh sculpturer, Hanan Roz.
In a time where beauty has become commercialized, and many women have fallen victim of it, the women photographers resort to art whether studio portraiture or architectural photography, to capture their vision and definition of beauty. Photography is not the only tool used, as Hanan, in her wire-mesh sculptures, generates an emotive language that accentuates the vulnerability of the human body where all its emotional and physical scars are sensed.
