Featuring more than 700 products from small- and medium-sized Lebanese enterprises, Made by Nature in Antelias is encouraging us all to support local producers. We learn more about the concept and how it is fast becoming a haven for made in Lebanon.
The concept
Considered the biggest mouneh hub in the Middle East, with around 700 suppliers producing everything from honey to essential oils, Made by Nature in Antelias is a place of positivity. Founded by Marc Beyrouthy and Anthony Rehayel, the unique concept aims to support Lebanese food and beverage companies, as well as local artisans.
“Our philosophy is to work as a community and showcase the amazing innovations from all the Lebanese ‘heroes’ who have chosen to stay in Lebanon, despite the monumental challenges,” says Beyrouthy.
What you can find at Made by Nature
Besides olive oil, Lebanese wines and spices, Made by Nature features an array of local products that may surprise people, such as black garlic and vanilla extract. There are even Lebanese cookbooks and unique board games on sale, including Lebanopoly, a creative take on the renowned Monopoly.
“If you care about Lebanon and want to support local industry, especially smaller businesses, Made by Nature is a great place to shop. You can find everything under one roof: souvenirs, gifts, snacks and so much more,” adds Beyrouthy.
Apart from the hundreds of products that line the shelves, Made by Nature also welcomes visitors for free workshops on gardening, medicinal plants and much more.
In addition, an outdoor market takes place regularly, allowing artisans and producers to share their passion with the public and sell their goods.
Next door
Adjacent to Made by Nature is Stories coffee shop, a new addition to Antelias, where you can enjoy cinnamon rolls, frozen yogurt and tasty coffee inside the old stone house or in the pretty courtyard. Furthermore, an outdoor food court is available for those seeking a tasty bite after their shopping experience at Made by Nature.
