Agenda – Ammiq Nature Walk & Lunch
Destination: Ammiq, Bekaa Valley (70 km from Beirut – 900 m above sea level)
Program
- 8:00 AM: Meeting at the parking of Sagesse School, Jdeideh (facing the public garden).
- 8:15 AM: Departure (sharp).
- Breakfast stop en route.
- Arrival in Ammiq and start of the guided nature walk.
Nature Walk
- Difficulty: Level 2 (Easy)
- Distance: Approximately 5 km (mostly flat)
The walk follows the edge of the mountains, offering shaded trails and panoramic views over the Bekaa Valley, where the wetlands, agricultural fields, and surrounding mountains meet.
Highlights
- Visit to the Ammiq Wetland, Lebanon’s largest wetland and one of the country’s most important bird migration sites.
- Stop at the birdwatching tower to observe the reserve and its rich biodiversity.
- Explore the area’s diverse tree species and natural landscapes.
- Multiple scenic viewpoints ideal for photography.
Lunch
After the hike, lunch will be served at Tawlet Ammiq Restaurant, featuring traditional Lebanese dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients, accompanied by fresh juice, seasonal fruits, and coffee.
