Color Against Silence, Rana Boustani

This exhibition presents a new body of work inspired by the villages and cities of South Lebanon—places shaped by memory, resilience, and a profound sense of belonging.

Through vibrant colors and luminous landscapes, these paintings celebrate the enduring spirit of places that transcend their physical reality. Preserved through art, imagination, and remembrance, they continue to live in collective memory and cultural identity.

Artist Statement

My work draws inspiration from the villages and cities of South Lebanon. These places are more than geographic locations; they are repositories of memory, history, and the lives of generations.

Rather than depicting them in a documentary manner, I seek to capture their essence—what endures beyond change and time. Through radiant colors, golden skies, and rhythmic architectural forms, I transform landscapes into spaces where memory and imagination converge.

Color becomes an act of preservation against forgetting. Architecture becomes memory, landscape becomes identity, and light becomes a vessel for belonging.

In my paintings, South Lebanon is defined not by destruction, but by resilience, beauty, and continuity. Through art, I aim to preserve the spirit of these places and keep their stories alive for future generations.
