Event Description:
The town of Hardine, rich in ancient ruins, is home to the historic Phoenician Temple at Saydet el Qalaa, offering stunning views and a glimpse of Lebanon’s rich history. Arz Niha, known for its biodiversity, is a peaceful haven for flora, fauna, and bird species. The trail leads to the famous church, offering an unforgettable experience of nature and history.
Hiking Levels:
– Level 4 (Intermediate): 8 km, 2.5 hrs, from Dahr el Mil to Niha Village, with lunch at St. Georges Church (smooth, downhill walk with panoramic views).
– Level 5 (Advanced): 12 km, 4 hrs, continuing from Niha Village to the Phoenician Temple at Saydet Al-Qalaa Church. The trail includes both downhill and uphill sections, requiring physical effort.
Optional stop in Batroun for fresh lemonade on the return trip.
What to Bring:
