Fragments, A Tale Of A City
Fragments: A Tale of a City is an exhibition by Armenian Lebanese illustrator and art teacher Choghig Der-Ghougassian, exploring Beirut through illustration and miniature collage.
Using paper and cardboard cut into delicate fragments, the artist reconstructs scenes inspired by the city’s architecture, streets, and evolving identity. The exhibition reflects Beirut’s fragility, memory, and constant transformation through intimate and layered visual storytelling.
Active in the Lebanese comics scene since the 1990s, Choghig has participated in international exhibitions including the Festival de BD d’Angoulême, as well as collective exhibitions in Lebanon. Fragments marks her first exhibition in several years.
The exhibition is accompanied by a workshop titled Stories of Beirut: A Diorama, where participants of all ages will create a small 3D collage inspired by their own memories and impressions of Beirut.
Workshop: May 23, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Fee: $20
