Holiday-Inn Beirut, Mira El-Khalil

Kalim Bechara Art Gallery presents Holiday Inn Beirut, Mira El-Khalil’s newest exhibition, opening Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

In this body of work, El-Khalil reimagines one of Beirut’s most charged architectural landmarks—an enduring icon of the Lebanese Civil War—as a living, breathing presence. Once the central subject of her early paintings, the Holiday Inn now appears intermittently, moving through scenes of friendship, introspection, and memory. Beirut’s wounded architecture becomes an emotional language, recolored, reimagined, and vividly alive.

The exhibition will remain on view through January 3, 2026, at Kalim Bechara Art Gallery, Downtown.
