I Was Seven the Day I Came Home Completely Soaked – Art Exhibition
This exhibition presents a project by artist Hage that explores the relationship between the human body, water, and movement. Each work develops its own process, where human and non-human elements, nature, and artistic setups interact in changing configurations.
The project began with the concept Danser sous la pluie, where participants stood under streams of water, creating a setting that focused on physical presence and exposure rather than choreography. Over time, the work evolved into I Was Seven the Day I Came Home Completely Soaked, a title that suggests a state or condition rather than a specific event.
Through photography and installation, the exhibition reflects on how water transforms the body and shapes movement, rhythm, and tension. The works also draw inspiration from artistic explorations of movement and fleeting moments, referencing figures such as Eadweard Muybridge, Man Ray, Philippe Halsman, Ana Mendieta, and Henri Matisse.
Presented as a large-scale installation, the exhibition surrounds viewers with images and compositions that explore presence, distance, and the subtle relationships between bodies in space.
