Ibrahim Maalouf & The Trumpets Of Michel-Ange
Over the course of 19 albums, Ibrahim Maalouf has evolved from an award-winning classical trumpet prodigy to one of France’s most celebrated jazz musicians. He has filled major venues such as Istanbul’s Volkswagen Arena, New York’s Lincoln Center, and Washington’s Kennedy Center. In 2016, he became the first jazz artist to sell out Paris’s Accor Arena (Bercy), France’s largest concert hall.
Recognized by Quincy Jones and hailed as a “virtuoso” by The New York Times, Ibrahim has collaborated with artists like Wynton Marsalis, Angelique Kidjo, Melody Gardot, the Kronos Quartet, Trilok Gurtu, Josh Groban, Marcus Miller, and Salif Keita.
In 2021, he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where Jon Batiste introduced him as a living jazz legend.
He has also become a prominent cultural figure. Ibrahim performed with Sting at the reopening of the Bataclan, honored Charlie Hebdo cartoonist Tignous at his funeral, and composed a national tribute anthem following the 2015 Paris attacks—performed by Louane.
A multi-award-winning composer for film, he has earned honors such as the Victoires de la Musique, César, and Lumières Awards. On July 14, 2021, he performed the French national anthem at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, broadcast to over six million viewers.
