Oracle Beirut, Une Nouvelle Creation Culturelle Et Artistique Presente Au Musee Sursock

On 11 December 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Sursock Museum will host the official launch of Oracle Beirut. The project is created by Lara Alameddine van der Vliet and illustrated by artist and designer Monique Bejjani. It follows the international success of Tarot Beirut, now part of the collections of the Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer and Harvard University’s Fine Arts Library.

Oracle Beirut is the first oracle deck written in Arabic calligraphy and translated into five languages on each card: Arabic, French, English, Spanish, and Italian. The deck contains fifty-three cards, including forty-nine arranged in seven planetary families and four Supreme cards. Inspired by the French Belline Oracle, it blends Levantine symbols with a modern and intuitive approach.

The deck is more than a divination tool. It is a cultural work that collectors and institutions already value. Its launch at the Sursock Museum highlights the growing recognition of Lebanese artistic creation.

The release marks an important moment for Lebanon’s creative scene. It brings together design, calligraphy, spirituality, and cultural innovation. The deck will soon be available in major bookstores and cultural venues in Lebanon, including Virgin Megastore, Librairie Antoine, and Malik’s.

In France, it will be available at the Institut du Monde Arabe and at the Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer. Harvard University’s Fine Arts Library has also ordered a copy for its private collection.

Oracle Beirut stands as a bridge between tradition and modern vision. It invites reflection, intuition, and inner change while celebrating its Levantine identity.
