Tannourine Cedars Reserve Hike with Vamos Todos!
Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Tannourine Cedar Reserve, Lebanon’s largest and densest cedar forest. Located between 1,500 and 2,000 meters above sea level, the reserve was established in 1999. It is home to centuries-old cedar trees that cover 80% of its landscape, as well as rare alpine flowers found only at this elevation. Moreover, the dramatic cliffs and majestic cedars create one of Lebanon’s most spectacular natural settings.
Just one hour from Beirut, this outdoor adventure offers three hiking options for different fitness levels. The Level 6+ hike is a challenging 15 km trail for experienced hikers. It starts at Arz Hadath El Jebbeh, climbs to Jurd Tannourine, and then descends into the reserve. Meanwhile, the Level 4 hike follows a scenic 9 km trail through the heart of the reserve. It also provides plenty of time to enjoy the views and take photos. Alternatively, the Level 2 hike is an easy 4 km walk inside the reserve. It is perfect for beginners or anyone seeking a relaxing nature escape.
After the hike, all participants will gather for a homemade lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Beirut.
Date: Sunday, July 19
Price: $70 per person, including transportation, guides, insurance, reserve entrance, and lunch. Alternatively, a $40 option is available without lunch. Foreign participants who do not hold a Lebanese ID are required to pay an additional $5 reserve entrance fee.
