Fragments Of Belonging, Haytham Sharrouf

“Fragments of Belonging”
Solo Exhibition by Haytham Sharrouf
Curated by Randa Sadaka

Born in Venezuela in 1990, Lebanese multidisciplinary artist Haytham Sharrouf works between Lebanon and Doha. With a background in Interior Design, Graphics, and an MBA in Design focused on cultural sustainability, his practice bridges personal memory and collective history.

Blending Expressionist Surrealism with cultural narratives from the Levant and Gulf, Sharrouf explores identity, belonging, and transformation. Connection to the Land reflects on his Lebanese roots, while Stitching Intimacy and Identity revisits Lebanon’s silk industry (1872–1910), intertwining themes of labor, craft, and survival.

His work has been featured at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Doha Film Institute. In his solo show Pearlo at Doha’s Fire Station, the pearl served as a metaphor for pain, growth, and resilience.
