Drawing inspiration from nature’s delicate flowers, the sea and small creatures, Sabaji’s unique dresses are an amalgam of soft and vibrant colors, and edgy yet elegant undertones.

His father, Jean Sabaji Senior, was an exceptional couturier who served the royal family of Saudi Arabia for many years. Growing up in his father’s atelier, Jean Louis watched him at work as he produced the most exquisite dresses. It was this that led Jean Louis to pursue a creative path, motivating him to study graphic design at the LAU and, later, fashion design at the prestigious Domus Academy in Milan.

After coming back to Lebanon, Jean Louis unveiled his very first collection in the summer of 2012, and he has been on a roll ever since. He was the first fashion designer in the Middle East to win the acclaimed Swarovski Collective prize and recently showcased his 10th collection including bridal gowns with intricate detailing.

With his incredible work featured in countless fashion magazines, such as Elle Oriental, Noun, Femme, Bespoke and Prestige, and his gowns being worn by numerous celebrities like Sonam Kampoor and Sophie Beem, he is most certainly a name to watch out for.

You can catch the designer at Salon du Chocolat Beirut’s renowned chocolate Fashion Show, 16-18 November at BIEL, and witness the unveiling of his chocolate dress, created in collaboration with the talented pastry chef Charles Azar.
