Hiking Trip to ASSIA with DALE CORAZON - LEBANON EXPLORERS

This hike in Assia village is diversified. You will walk the mountain cliff overlooking the valley of Assia, and along the river bank in the valley. It’s so beautiful.

This hike is not just a hike in a very beautiful nature, along streams, ponds, huge trees, and breathtaking views. It is a cultural tour as well.

HIKE LOCATION                          :  Assia / Batroun / North

13 $ /person or equivalent including transport, professional guides, 5 minutes of warming up, stretching, and pictures.

Children 18 years old and younger will have a discount of 10%. (12 $/person)

  DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

======================                                                                                    

Assia is a village in the middle of Batroun known for its handcrafted pottery. It is rich in remains of ancient civilizations; you can see sarcophagi, old historical churches and old grape and olive presses. Assia has many springs and water ponds like Saidet el Qalaa Pond.

At the village you will visit one of the pottery artisans who will show you how this traditional craft is done. You can help them by buying handmade products.

HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous

The hike will be two levels:

LEVEL 4 The hike will start from the upper mountain of the village’s center. You will visit the important landmarks and the historical monastery of St. Assia and get a clear explanation about them.

LEVEL 5 Will start from the crossroads and head up to Ain Blatt at the rocky tile, is a must to see which is situated in a deep valley with three connected channels. From there you will walk uphill to the village’s center and meet the other group and continue the trail together, where the site offering many scenic spots and adventure.

For both levels the trail leads you to Saidet el Qalaa Pond or The Lady of the Fortress Pond and the waterfall; the most beautiful sight you will encounter where the lake maintains same level of water during the year.

The place there is so peaceful; you will feel it in your hearts. After a rest period beside the waterfall, you will head to a historical church The Lady of the Fortress; it is built in the rocks overlooking great views. Nearby you will see Canaanite sarcophagi and old grape presses. There are many huge and beautiful oak trees. Lunch will be under one of these trees.

Mar Touma Monastery It is a great place to end the hike. It is a beautiful place in the midst of breathtaking oak trees.

Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions:

Distancing from each other is a must.

Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks.

Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other.

 WHAT TO TAKE:

 Healthy snacks that will boost your energy include dried fruits, lunch, water, MEDICAL FACE MASKS, HAND GEL, a cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes (A professional brand is recommended) and don't forget to get a light jacket. DC members get a 20% discount on sports equipment in Sports 4 Ever branches.
