New Trail - HAMET to the Hidden Tunnels SUNSET HIKE with DALE CORAZON – LEBANON EXPLORERS

We invite you to a relaxing sunset hike at Hamat, on Saturday the 15th of October.

We will walk at the coast from Saydet El-Nourieh (Lady of Light) to the old hidden tunnels overlooking the spectacular Mediterranean Sea, reach in breathtaking views exposed to the sun.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

This time our trip is different; we are going to the sea coast to watch the wonderful summer sunset, but where? Its Ras El-Shaq’aa.

Will start the hike by a visit to Deir Saydet el Nourieh in Hamat. A walk to the sanctuary Mar Semaan Monastery located on the steep cliff overlooking the sea is a must to see. The track is not hard; the walk will be about 2,30 hrs.

A track with narrow street, partially asphalted but among a lot of trees, will take you to “Saidet El Horshieh” located on the steep cliff (Rass el Shakaa) overlooking the sea. Stony Phoenician steps will take you down to the shore (Hannnouch), its historical monuments, and archeological site, where will walk among the old tunnels train and enjoy the fresh breeze of the sea.

From there will take the bus to Batroun, to visit the historic “St. Stephan’s Cathedral”.  There walking in the old Souk, will go to the “Phoenician fortress and wall” and visit “Our Lady of the Sea” to finish our walk at “Makaad el Mir” by the sea where we will take some magical photos.

As usual, we will end this night’s adventure with a cozy gathering around a drink at Hilmi’s House, its Lemonade Drink prepared by local habitants.

This sunset hike must not be missed. It will imprint unforgettable memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.            Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions:

Distancing from each other is a must.

Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. To keep it on, while we are on the bus.

Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other.

WHAT TO TAKE:

Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruit, a flashlight, water, MEDICAL FACE MASKS, HAND GEL, a cap, and sunglasses.
