Meshwar Of An Artist From Palestine To Lebanon
The unpublished retrospection is produced by the Fouad and May Tomb Foundation for the Arts, hosted by Dar El Nimer, under the curatorship of Randa Sadaka. It runs from February 22 to May 13, 2023. The pictorial event includes four parts.
- Section 1: Palestine, the beginnings (1911-1948)
Research by the Fouad and May Tomb Foundation for the Arts, with the assistance of researcher Mazen Qupty, has uncovered more than a dozen etchings.
- Section 2: Lebanon, the golden age (1949-1981)
Maroun Tomb joined the Iraq Petroleum Company in Tripoli in 1949 and took over as head of its artistic department. He writes and draws for the magazine Ahl An-Naft. In 1954, works by the painter appeared at the Salon du Printemps of the Ministry of National Education and Fine Arts at the UNESCO Palace. In 1957, he joined the Association of Lebanese Painters and Sculptors. In 1965, he inaugurated his graphic design office in Beirut.
- Section 3: Father-son dialogue (1981-today)
Maroun Tomb is the father of Fouad Tomb. From 1969, they formed a tandem at the graphic design office founded by the father. Imbued with the same impressionist inspiration, the duo explored the same subjects years apart.

Fouad Tomb made a turning point in his professional life in the 1990s by devoting himself to art. He obtained a diploma in drawing and painting from the University of Quebec (Montreal) before participating in important seminars in the techniques of the great masters as well as in multiple practical workshops with colleagues in Canada and the States. -United. The painter chooses education as the second pole of activity. With his wife May Ziadé, he founded the Arts and Renaissance school and trained generations of artists there for a quarter of a century. His own reinterpretations of his father's work tend towards a colorful semi-abstraction embodying the rich heritage, with the same message of love. These paintings are exhibited as a world premiere.
