Optional transportation by your own vehicle 12 $/person DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: ======================== Dear Dale Corazon On Sunday 18 June Dale Coarzon will lead you to the highest peak in Lebanon, in the heart of the northern mountains of Lebanon and on the southwestern slopes of Mount Makmal and Qornet el Sawda. The name might be scary as it means Black Peak, but it is pure Lebanese beauty. Many consider the location a challenge to reach since it takes you quite some time to reach the location. “Kornet El Sawda”, is said to be the highest summit in the Middle East, at 3085 m above sea level. The amazing scenery that your eyes catch upon reaching these amazing landscapes is indescribable. HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous The hike (level 6) is tough at about 20 km long, our hike will start at an altitude of 2800 m from Oyoun Orghosh. At the beginning we will have a smooth uphill hike for 120 m, then we will walk in an off-road trail to reach the Square of Kornet el Sawda, then prepare yourselves for a challenging 140m upwards towards the Black Beauty at the altitude of 3088m. We will have our lunch on the peak enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Watch out for the cold air and the snow, although we are in summer it feels like winter there. After the lunch break will take the same way back to the bus. For all adventure lovers, we advise you to take this challenge! Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions: Distancing from each other is a must. Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other. WHAT TO TAKE: ============ Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, lunch, water, MEDICAL FACE MASKS, HAND GEL, cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes (A professional brand is recommended) and don't forget to get a light jacket.
