Join us this Saturday 07th to experience a new type of ecological activity in one the most pleasing place in Batroun district. It’s about olive picking & tour at Douma village and olive oil tasting at Chabtine village.

We will start our day by meeting the villagers who will share with us their experience in olive picking and how it could be done, their attachment to the land as well as their traditions and lifestyle. Then we will be divided into small groups and provided materials for work; the procedure is easy and can be listed by: setting the maps under the trees, shaking the branches by hand and pneumatic rakes and filling the crates to transport them to the local press in the village at the end of the day.

Afterwards, we will have the chance to walk in the old souk of Douma, this beautiful village known for its special location and great landmarks, its houses red brick and unique temperate climate. We will be also able to visit the Heritage museum to discover old handcrafts and listens to the history of Douma

Then, we will have lunch together in a restful place in Douma (guest house or other)

As mention before, we will end our journey by gathering at Maison Mazak Chabtine, will visit it, learn about oil making and get to taste its exquisite olive oil.

There will be different stands selling Mazak products at discounted prices.

 

This event is done in collaboration with “Mazak”. MAZAK is organic and local brand. Maison Mazak is located in Chabtine-middle Batroun caza. It is a local brand promoting local organic “terroir” products (Olive oil, olives, natural soap, honey…) produced by villagers and encouraging as well local famers to stick to their lands and use only green practices.
