Fashion Meets Chocolate at Salon du Chocolat

by LBTAdmin

Fashion and chocolate are two things that have always been associated to the world of luxury, but there have been few occasions where they have collided. Step in Salon du Chocolat Beirut, the must-attend event for chocolate enthusiasts.

The fifth edition of Salon du Chocolat Beirut is taking place from 8-10 November at the Seaside Arena. Celebrating the sweeter side of life, the exhibition will host over 100 stands showcasing the tastiest chocolate and confectionery items. Visitors can also enjoy various events and activities, such as the Chocolate Sculpture Competition, where students from the Académie Libanais des Beaux-Arts (Alba) will compete in modeling the most impressive sculpture using only chocolate.

The Choco Demo workshops with the top pastry chefs in town will provide visitors with the chance to learn how to make dessert items. More than 15 chefs will be present to impart their knowledge.

Children can also enjoy the show by getting creative at the Salon du Chocolat Junior, where they can join special workshops with pastry chefs and experiment with chocolate.

The biggest feature of the Salon du Chocolat is that it combines the world of fashion with the world of chocolate

The hottest event of the exhibition, however, is the Chocolate Fashion Show. A total of 13 dresses made out of chocolate will be showcased during two runway shows and later put on display for visitors to admire.

This year’s masterpiece will be designed by Karoline Lang, designer to the stars, and renowned master consultant chef Charles Azar. “The biggest feature of the Salon Du Chocolat is that it combines the world of fashion with the world of chocolate,” says Azar.

“This year we are working on a dress that is very symbolic of my style […] using the same techniques I would on leather or fabric but with chocolate” adds Lang.

This event is held concurrently with the Beirut Cooking Festival.
