Located in the popular seaside town of Tabarja, 35km from Beirut, Beit El Bahr is a charming guesthouse offering uninterrupted sea views and direct access to the beach.

The building itself is a masterpiece; a 19th century Lebanese home featuring six bedrooms, tall arched windows and vaulted ceilings. In addition, there is a pretty terrace where guests can relax, read a book or just swing in the hammock. All in all, it’s an ideal destination for those seeking a traditional property which offers modern comforts.

There are numerous water sports available in Tabarja and several good seafood restaurants too. Jounieh is just 15 minutes away by car, so you can explore the old souk and take the Teleferique (09 936075, teleferiquelb.com) up to Harissa and back. Byblos is also a short drive along the coast where you’ll find restaurants, cafés and beach resorts not to mention historic landmarks, including the Crusader Castle, Old Port and Old Souks.
