Bkassine, recognized by the World Tourism Organization as one of the world’s best tourist villages, is a charming destination famous for its red-roofed houses and Lebanon’s largest pine forest, covering over 1 million m². The village is also known for producing high-quality pine nuts.
Hike Options
LEVEL 2 (5 km – Easy)

Begins at the public park, descending along a shaded trail with panoramic views of Jezzine, Niha, and the Chouf region.

Features include old stone stairways and natural (non-potable) water sources.

Ends with a bus pickup at Bkassine village, with free time to explore.
LEVEL 5 (11 km – Moderate to Challenging)

Follows the same starting path as Level 2 before continuing to an old mill and river.

Ascends through a dense forest, a 2-meter-high “fougere” bush, and sacred prayer caves.

Concludes along a scenic dirt road, merging with Level 2 at the olive press.
